There are a great many things that I am learning to embrace on this journey towards owning more of this self known as writer. I am learning that every time I finish a piece, share my work, or take critique and or feedback for it–that is a win. I am able to mature more as a writer.
Being able to hear and accept criticism is essential to that growth. It is fine to be protective of your work–but don’t be so protective of your work that no one can can critique it.
(Yes, there is a difference between critique and criticism…but more on that later.)
There must come a time when you as writer realize that your wins may come in multiple places, including professional maturity.
