August 2022: ASPIRATION

Writing is like dreaming on paper.

And with that dreaming, we are able to create the life that we want to see around us or in the world. We are able to provide or create windows, doors, and mirrors!

Windows to expose to the world to what you want them to see.

Mirrors allow you to see yourself in the world.

Doors allow you to create the world you desire and put yourself in it!

There is a power to harnessing creativity–and that is aspiration.

July 2022-Harness Creativity

I often think of creativity as the fuel that allows you to play with the invisible. It is the access to the invisible that allows you to create what will be visible. One of the joys of being a writer is being able to play with reality! We get to create the reality we want! This is why the Arts are incredible and always need those whom participate to be heard, seen and valued!

Creativity is a power source that unlocks the world and those therein!

Remember: If you can harness what you can see (even if only you can see it!), you can share it with the world.

I believe that writing is letting people see inside your head. And I think that everyone writes, it’s just to what degree you write.

Some people journal, some people get published, and some people are discovered as brilliant after they die.

Write anyway…write anyway. Let the people see what they are missing, before you are missed.

Reference to ‘lay some track’ is taken from The Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes.

I love the phrase by Shonda Rhimes, “lay some track.”

In doing so, you are allowing the skill and talent you have to be centered! From that trust, all kinda of ideas bubble up! But you have to be willing to lay the track.

Track is the foundation. Laying the track (when I first read this), means to be willing to put the effort forth to create what you need to! From laying this track, it’s quicker to get to the needed ideas.

Go lay the track.

For this month, I want to leave you with these 10 things to help you to harness your own creativity:

1.) Read more.

3.) Journal.

4.) Find a writing time that works for you.

5.) Keep a dream journal, or do morning pages.

6.) Walk away from the work when you get stuck.

7.) Exercise or stretch.

8.) Natural light is a mood booster! Open a window!

9.) Make a story machine .

10.) Save your flash fiction–it may be groundwork for a world later on.

Remember: You can do it. You really can!
