Take All The Time You Need

Writing is a process.

Writing is a journey.

No writing journey is, should be, is a planned to be linear! Time is relative in the life of a writer. It, too, is a tool. It needs to be something you do because you love to do it, or because you have a plethora of things to say! Either way, you are writing BECAUSE you have something to say.

Self-rejection as an artist can be cyclic, triggered by situations and our own mental health! Recognizing what contributes to your writing journey (or lack of one), is imperative to your success as a writer! This journey will be demanding. It will be challenging. It will be rewarding and satisfying as you take the time to cultivate it!

Be gentle with yourself.

Be accountable to yourself.

Remember you write for yourself first. Don’t deprive you, of YOU.

I want you to believe in your imagination. I want you to consider your imagination something which needs be cultivated as often as possible.

Make time to daydream.

Make time to wonder.

Make time to wander.

Your imagination will thank you the next time you demand it key on to create. Athletes work everyday to prepare for compeitions. Keep that same energy to write.

Encouragement Pages-04/24/2020-The Power Of Can’t (3)

This topic for this week’s Encouragement Pages really spoke to me. Look for this to be an expounded on topic later on. -JBHarris

Make no mistake, you are human. Writing is a superpower, but you have to be able to rest as well (the rest after a full day of writing is a gift, let me tell you!). What I want you to remember is it is not the time you wrestle against, it is the hindrances to your own imagination.

If you have a day where you cannot write because you are physically tired, or due to the demands of the day, that is fine. By all means, rest!

What I am saying is when you are attempting to write about a specific topic or in a specific genre, and feel that you don’t have the ability to–this is what I want you to examine, dear one.

You do that by asking these three questions:

1.) What am I scared to say?

2.) What makes it scary to say?

3.) What is stopping me from saying what I believe needs to be said?

If you can answer these, they become the key to unlocking the can’t. Take this key, unlock your imagination, and write.

It’s Ready! It’s Ready!

After starting this project in January, it took the current situation of being self-quarantined that allowed me to finish this. But, at last, it is done! I hope that you all enjoy it and it becomes a tool in your writing journey.

It is available in paperback, ebook, and is live on Amazon now!

Thank you all so much for supporting!
