I’ll tell you a secret.
There is time to write if you make it.
But you need to make it.

I’ll tell you a secret.
There is time to write if you make it.
But you need to make it.
With Love & Ink,
Writing doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be done.
Are you, will you be, brave enough to do it?
This is the better question.
With Love & Ink,
You have more than you need, and more than you thought you would have. Simply put: it will get no easier than it is right now to write. I understand (completely!) what it means to want things to be smoother to write. But, the key factor of the writing process is–you.
YOU.
You can do all the research: you still need to apply it.
You can have a great writing schedule: you still need to write.
You can have dedicated notebooks: you still need to fill them.
You have all you need to go forward!
So–GO!
Writing is messy.
Writing is demanding.
Writing is raptrous.
Writing is healing.
Writing is what you do.
So, do it.
With Love & Ink,
In the age of everything instant, let me give you this reminder.
If you can scroll, you can write.
Write twice as much as you scroll.
With Love & Ink,
Ink and paper will listen when your heart cannot be placed (or trusted) anywhere else.
With Love & Ink,
Keeping focus as a writer can be difficult at points, especially in the era where everything is instant and constant. In the time where writing can be or is most difficult, is where you must evaluate whether or not you can continue on/with the writing you desire to do.
When I have writing that I need to do, and feel I don’t have time, I have this quick system (adjust as need be):
1.) Pause the current WIP. Let the work sit for a minute.
2.) If I have smaller projects I can focus on, I finish those–it makes room for the work I need to do.
3.) Switch gears and write something totally different.
The goal is to balance time and effort. Once you are aware of your writing schedule, and what works best for you, the possibilities to augment or pause when necessary, are more realistic.
Be mindful of what is in front of you, and what you may have to press through.
Be brave enough to stretch to write.
Stretching is only exercising what is already there.
So, what do you have in you? It’s more than what you think.
With Love & Ink,
I believe that some of the best writers war with their gift: there are days you love what you do, and other days it all feels like homework you will never complete.
Both situations, I am a writer. And so are you.
With Love & Ink,
Believe in yourself like you root for everyone else.
Read it again.
